About Charles Nicholas

Charles Nicholas Internicola is the founder and managing partner of The Internicola Law Firm, P.C., a nationally recognized franchise law firm located at 115 Maple Avenue in Red Bank, New Jersey. Established in 2012, the firm specializes in franchise law, providing comprehensive services such as Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) development, state registrations, franchise agreements, trademarks, and ongoing compliance counsel. Under Charles's leadership, the firm has represented over 350 franchise brands across the United States, assisting both emerging and established franchisors in aligning their legal structures with growth strategies. His legal career began after earning a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1995. Prior to this, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St.

John's University School of Law in 1992. Admitted to the New York State Bar in 1996 and the New Jersey State Bar in 2001, Charles has built a robust foundation in legal practice. Before founding The Internicola Law Firm, he held various significant positions, including partner at Decker Decker Dito & Internicola, LLP from 2006 to 2011. During this time, he developed his expertise in franchise law, which would become the cornerstone of his own firm. In addition to his partnership role, Charles served as outside general counsel for a private food distributor from 2010 to 2012.

His earlier experiences include working as an associate at AK&G from 2000 to 2004 and at Vincenti Law Firm, PC from 1997 to 1999. His early legal career also featured clerkships at Hall & Hall, LLP and Salenger & Sak. This gives a diverse background in various legal practices. Charles is an active member of several professional organizations, including the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. His contributions to the field extend beyond his legal practice; he is the publisher of "The New York Franchise Law Blog" and has authored notable works such as "The New York and New Jersey Partnership Dispute Guide" and "An Entrepreneur's Guide to Purchasing a Business or Franchise." These publications reflect his commitment to educating others in the details of franchise law.

In June 2024, Charles took on the role of CEO at GoodSpark Franchise Growth Accelerator, adding to his influence in the franchise industry. His expertise and dedication have not gone unnoticed; he has been recognized by Super Lawyers from 2013 to 2018 for his work in franchise and dealership law. Fluent in English and conversational in Spanish, Charles continues to make significant contributions to the legal community and the franchise sector.
