About Dr. Maudia Norman
Dr. Maudia Norman Washington has an extensive academic background that spans law, business and international studies. She earned a B.A. in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2004 and an MBA in Business Management from Robert Morris College in 2008. She received her J.D. from Michigan State University in 2013, where she studied business law. Later she completed an LL.M. in Real Estate Litigation at The John Marshall Law School and holds a Ph.D. in International Business from Argosy University.
Her career blends practice, teaching and public service. She is the founder and principal lawyer at Washington Law Offices, P.C., where she built a practice that addresses business, real estate and tax matters. In 2021 she served as an eviction mediator for the Residential Eviction Mediation Program of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court. Earlier in her career she taught as an adjunct professor: business law at Trine University in 2015 and business management at the University of Phoenix in 2012. She also holds certification as an IRS Certified Tax Preparation Professional.
Washington is licensed in multiple federal and state forums. She is admitted to the United States Tax Court and to the Illinois bar. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Northern and Central Districts of Illinois. Those admissions support the litigation and tax work that form a large part of her practice. Her LL.M. in real estate litigation gives her specialized training for property disputes and courtroom work. Her doctoral study in international business informs handling of cross-border transactions and business planning that touch on foreign elements.
