About Evan
Evan Selik built his academic foundation in the Midwest. He earned a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington. Those classroom years preceded a move into practice on the West Coast.
He began practicing in California and in 2014 was associated with Selik & Associates, APC. Records list that affiliation beginning that year. Over time he shifted roles and responsibilities, taking on matters that required courtroom work and client counseling across a variety of settings.
In 2018 Selik joined McCathern, PLLC as a partner. That title reflects a senior role inside the firm and involvement in case strategy, client intake and supervising legal work. Colleagues cite his steady presence in firm matters and his day-to-day role in managing litigation and client relationships.
Selik is admitted to practice in California and maintains current membership in professional associations. He has kept a consistent presence in state legal circles, balancing court appearances with negotiations and filings. He has handled disputes that move through trial dockets and administrative forums, and he is comfortable steering matters at different phases of litigation.
He approaches cases with attention to procedural detail and practical timing. He prepares pleadings, conducts discovery and argues motions while also advising clients about potential outcomes. Outside the courtroom he has worked on settlement talks and pretrial planning. He currently practices at McCathern, PLLC, handling matters that arise under California law.
