About Gerald

Gerald Solomon trained as an accountant before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 1969. He went on to receive his J.D. from Howard University in 1982. Those two degrees shaped a practical approach to legal work that he has carried into practice for decades.

After finishing law school in 1982, Solomon opened his own practice. He established the Law Office of Gerald Solomon, P.A., and has maintained the firm since that year. The decision to start a solo practice allowed him to manage a varied docket and to set his own course professionally. Over time the firm became the center of his professional life.

Solomon is admitted to practice in several state and federal jurisdictions. His memberships include the Maryland and Florida bars, and he is also a member of the United States Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is admitted to the Court of Appeals of Maryland and to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans both state and federal forums.

He has kept active in local bar communities. He holds current membership in the Maryland State Bar and the Florida State Bar. He joined the Prince George’s County Bar Association in 1982 and remains a member. Since 2009 he has also been a member of the Palm Beach Bar Association. Those associations have provided a professional network and a steady stream of continuing legal education opportunities.

Solomon’s work has been concentrated at his own firm for the bulk of his career. The Law Office of Gerald Solomon, P.A. has served as his professional base since its founding. He has steered the practice through changing legal landscapes and regulatory developments over more than four decades. He manages client matters directly and oversees the office’s operations.

Throughout his career Solomon has navigated matters in both Maryland and Florida courts as well as in federal courts. He combines a background in accounting with legal training, which informs how he approaches cases and client counseling. He continues to accept matters through the Law Office of Gerald Solomon, P.A.

His current practice centers on providing legal representation to clients in matters brought in Maryland and Florida state courts and in federal courts, handled through the Law Office of Gerald Solomon, P.A.
