Jeanne Marie Browne is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1988. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Browne is the founder and principal attorney at Browne Law and Mediation, P.C., a law firm located at 829 Sonoma Avenue, Suite 6, Santa Rosa, California. She has been practicing law for over 37 years, serving clients throughout Sonoma County and the surrounding areas.
Ms. Browne earned her Juris Doctor degree from Empire College School of Law in 1987. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Sonoma State University in California, graduating in 1982. She also attended Empire Business College in 1977. Throughout her legal education, Ms. Browne has pursued continuing legal education in family law, mediation, and collaborative practice to enhance her expertise in these areas.
Ms. Browne concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, mediation, and collaborative law. She assists clients with divorce, legal separation, prenuptial agreements, child custody, child support, and spousal support matters. Her practice encompasses all stages of family law proceedings, including initial case evaluation, negotiation, mediation, settlement discussions, and, when necessary, trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. Ms. Browne is committed to resolving family disputes amicably and has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution methods.
Throughout her career, Ms. Browne has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sonoma and has appeared before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has also served as a Settlement Conference Panelist for the Sonoma County Superior Court, assisting parties in reaching settlements before trial. Additionally, she has been appointed as Minor’s Counsel by the Sonoma County Superior Court to represent the interests of children in high-conflict custody matters. Ms. Browne has been practicing law for over 37 years, providing legal services to the community.
Ms. Browne is an active member of the State Bar of California and has been a member in good standing since her admission in 1988. She is also a member of the Collaborative Practice North Bay and the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). Locally, she has been involved with the Sonoma County Bar Association, serving on the Family Law Committee and the Membership Committee. She has previously served as Co-President of the Collaborative Council of the Redwood Empire, now known as Collaborative Practice Sonoma, an organization of attorneys, mental health providers, and financial specialists committed to out-of-court resolution. Ms. Browne has also been a board member of the Sonoma County Legal Services Foundation, which provides low-fee representation to clients in need. She has been honored at Empire College’s 50th Anniversary Jubilee Celebration in 2011 as a graduate of Empire College of Law. Ms. Browne is fluent in English and offers services to a diverse clientele in Sonoma County.
