Karen L. Goldstein is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Goldstein is the founder and principal attorney at the Law Offices of Karen L. Goldstein, a criminal defense firm located in Los Angeles, California. She has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Ms. Goldstein earned her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating cum laude in 2003. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Georgetown University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. During her time at Georgetown Law, she served as a student attorney for the Domestic Violence Clinic, representing victims in D.C. Superior Court and assisting in teaching first-year students' legal research and writing as a Law Fellow.
Ms. Goldstein concentrates her practice in the areas of criminal defense and white-collar crimes. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving drug offenses, DUI/DWI, sex crimes, violent crimes, domestic violence, and federal crimes. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including pretrial hearings, negotiations, trials, and appeals in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Goldstein has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. In 2020, she was honored with the Trial Attorney of the Year award, the Jerry Giesler Memorial Award, by the Criminal Courts Bar Association, recognizing her outstanding contributions to criminal defense.
Ms. Goldstein is an active member of the State Bar of California, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and the New York State Bar Association. She is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is fluent in French and speaks Spanish conversationally, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
