About Mr Rex
Mr Rex Tran earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2007 after beginning his studies in 2005. He came through a law school known for practical training in litigation and business matters. The degree marked the end of formal study and the start of a career focused on financial and insolvency issues in California.
Early in his career he moved into bankruptcy work. By 2012 he had established Tran Bankruptcy Law and took on the title of owner and lawyer. He has maintained a practice centered on client counseling, case preparation and representation in bankruptcy proceedings. His work involves the procedural details that creditors, trustees and debtors face in state and federal settings.
Over time his practice has intersected with a small firm environment. He operates and maintains an office arrangement through The Law Offices of Chen & Tran. That setting has allowed him to manage a caseload that includes individual and business clients. The combination of a boutique firm and an independent practice has shaped how he handles intake, case strategy and appearances in court.
Colleagues and clients describe his approach as practical and process-oriented. He emphasizes clear timelines, documentation and adherence to bankruptcy rules. His work requires regular contact with trustees, creditors and court clerks. It also involves explaining statutory exemptions, discharge issues and repayment plans to people who often encounter the legal system for the first time.
In court, his role is to move cases through required steps and to seek outcomes aligned with his clients’ financial circumstances. Outside hearings he spends time structuring schedules, preparing petitions and supporting documents, and negotiating terms where possible. He also stays current on developments in California bankruptcy practice to ensure filings and procedures meet local requirements.
As a California practitioner, he handles matters across the state and represents clients before bankruptcy courts where appropriate. He balances the needs of individuals facing immediate financial pressure with the procedural necessities of federal bankruptcy law. He currently represents clients in bankruptcy matters through Tran Bankruptcy Law and maintains an office presence at The Law Offices of Chen & Tran.
