About Mr. Tracy T
Tracy T Hatcher studied criminal justice in Charlotte before turning to law. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte beginning in 1995 and earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice in 1998. He continued his legal training at New England Law | Boston, starting in 1999 and receiving his J.D. in 2002.
Hatcher began his legal career in public service. In 2003 he joined the 26th District Public Defender’s Office in North Carolina. That role put him in courtrooms early and often. He handled client interviews, prepared defenses and tried cases for clients who could not afford private counsel. The work shaped his courtroom approach and his understanding of criminal procedure.
After a few years in the public defender system he moved into private practice. In 2006 Hatcher established The Hatcher Law Office, PLLC. He has run that practice since then. The office handles a range of criminal matters at the state level and represents clients in proceedings that reach federal forums as needed.
Hatcher is licensed to practice in North Carolina and is admitted to the Federal Circuit. He has maintained professional association memberships and remains engaged with his professional community. His time in both public defense and private practice has given him familiarity with trial preparation, plea bargaining and the demands of courtroom work.
Colleagues and clients describe Hatcher as methodical in preparation and direct in the courtroom. He approaches cases by collecting detailed facts and testing legal theories against those facts. Years of trial experience inform how he frames arguments and examines witnesses. He places importance on clear communication with clients about possible outcomes and procedural timelines.
These days Hatcher continues to operate The Hatcher Law Office, PLLC. He represents clients in criminal matters in North Carolina and in matters that require appearance before the Federal Circuit. His practice continues to center on criminal defense at both state and federal levels.
