Oscar Benjamin Valencia is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2001. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Valencia is the founder and managing attorney at Elite Criminal Defense, a law firm specializing in criminal defense located in San Diego, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Valencia earned his Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2001. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of La Verne, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his time at Pepperdine, he focused on criminal law and participated in various legal clinics and internships.
Mr. Valencia concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, representing individuals in both state and federal courts. His experience includes handling cases involving serious offenses such as strong-armed robbery, kidnapping, RICO violations, extortion, murder, environmental crimes, white-collar crimes, fraud, and embezzlement. He is involved in all stages of litigation, including pre-trial motions, trial proceedings, and appeals.
Throughout his career, Mr. Valencia has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding Elite Criminal Defense, he worked as an associate attorney at a criminal defense firm in San Diego for several years.
Mr. Valencia is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. He holds membership in the National Trial Lawyers Association and has been recognized as a Top 100 Criminal Defense Attorney. He is also a certified mediator through the San Diego Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Valencia is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
