About Rachael Patton

Rachael Patton Catalanotto took a steady path into law. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science at Louisiana State University – University of New Orleans in 2003 and earned her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2007. Those formative years shaped a practice grounded in state and federal procedure.

She is admitted to practice in Louisiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Her professional career has been anchored at Broussard, David & Moroux, where she has handled a range of litigation and family law matters. Colleagues describe her as practical and thorough. Her file work reflects attention to detail and steady courtroom presence.

Catalanotto has taken roles beyond client representation. From 2018 to 2020 she served on the Louisiana Disciplinary Board Hearing Committee, a position that exposed her to the disciplinary framework that governs lawyer conduct. More recently, she joined the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization Family Law Advisory Committee for the 2024–2025 term. That appointment connects her to the standards and processes used to evaluate family law specialists in the state.

Her professional memberships are local and civic. She is a member of the 22nd Judicial District Court Bar Association. She also helped found the Safe Haven Foundation, an organization focused on community needs. Those affiliations keep her engaged with both peers and the public.

In practice, Catalanotto handles contested family law matters, where contested custody and support disputes are common. She works on cases that move through trial courts and sometimes involve appeals, given her Fifth Circuit admission. She is familiar with procedural strategy in both state and federal settings and with the practical demands of courtroom preparation.

Her tenure at Broussard, David & Moroux has included courtroom appearances and client counseling across a spectrum of family-law issues. She has balanced work inside the office with committee service and community involvement. That combination has shaped her approach to cases and professional obligations.

Clients and colleagues see her as methodical and steady in litigation. She continues to practice at Broussard, David & Moroux, representing clients in family law and related litigation matters.
