About Sydney Eliza
Sydney Eliza Weiskopf completed her legal education at the University of Arkansas School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2023. She arrived in law school after finishing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Richmond in 2016, where she studied psychology and philosophy and added a minor in anthropology. The combination of social science and legal training shaped an early interest in how institutions affect individual lives.
Her practical training began during law school. In 2021 she worked as a legal extern for the U.S. Federal Public Defender’s Office in the Western District of Arkansas. That role placed her in a criminal defense environment, handling research and client-facing tasks under supervision. In the same year she served as a legal intern for the University of Arkansas General Counsel for Athletics, where she assisted on matters tied to collegiate compliance and employment. She also gained experience as a law clerk at Catterlin and Arnold Law Office, and later took an internship with United Athlete Sports Agency in 2023.
After receiving her J.D., Weiskopf joined Lyda Law Office as an attorney in 2023. Her professional record shows work across a mix of public and private settings. The federal public defender externship and the university counsel role exposed her to both criminal and regulatory work, while the agency internship offered a view of athlete representation and contract matters. At the law clerk and law office positions she was involved in day-to-day case preparation and client communications.
Weiskopf holds membership in the State Bar of Arkansas beginning in 2023 and is licensed to practice in Arkansas and Tennessee. Her time in multiple legal settings provided a breadth of courtroom exposure and office practice. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She has handled legal research, motion drafting, client interviews, and administrative work tied to athletic compliance and defense matters.
The arc of her career so far moves from classroom to courtroom support to private practice. She moved quickly from internships and clerkships into an attorney role at Lyda Law Office. That progression reflects a steady accumulation of on-the-job responsibilities and a willingness to rotate through different practice environments to round out her experience.
She currently practices at Lyda Law Office, where her work draws on experience in criminal defense, collegiate athletics counsel, and client-side transactional matters.
