About Victoria

Victoria Smolyar built a private practice grounded in business law and intellectual property. She completed her legal training at Hofstra University, earning a J.D. in 2012 after concentrated study in business law and intellectual property. That academic background has informed the kinds of matters she takes on in private practice.

She is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York. Those dual jurisdictions allow her to serve clients whose matters cross state lines and to handle transactional and counseling work that touches both state legal systems.

In 2015 she opened Victoria Smolyar Law, P.C., serving as the firm’s founding lawyer. She established the firm to provide direct legal services to individuals and businesses, overseeing both day-to-day operations and client engagements. The firm reflects a small-practice model in which the principal attorney remains involved in client work rather than handing matters off to junior staff.

Smolyar’s training in business law and intellectual property shapes how she approaches cases. She combines contract analysis and transactional advising with attention to rights and protections that come from intellectual property law. Her approach emphasizes clarity in agreements and protecting intangible assets through careful counseling and document drafting.

Colleagues describe her as methodical and practical in delivering legal advice. She prefers written agreements that anticipate common problems and dispute triggers. That orientation toward prevention shows in how she structures client relationships and the way she drafts transactional documents.

Her practice handles matters that generally arise out of commercial interactions and creative enterprise. The firm works with clients on transactional questions, contract matters and issues that involve ownership or protection of intellectual property. Given the firm’s base in New Jersey and her admission in New York, she regularly addresses cross-border concerns that affect nearby businesses.

Outside the office she has kept an interest in the legal issues that connect business operations and intellectual property rights. She maintains an active role in the firm she founded and continues to accept new matters. Victoria Smolyar currently focuses her practice on business law and intellectual property matters for clients in New Jersey and New York.
