About Wais

Wais Azami earned a J.D. from California Southern University School of Law in 2015. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at California State University, Fullerton in 1996 and an Associate of Arts in General Studies at Cypress College in 1993. Those credentials form a steady academic path from community college to law school.

Before law, Azami worked in classrooms and community programs. He taught in Sacramento and later at Downey Adult School. He served as a program counselor for BANANAS, Inc., where he worked directly with youth programs. In 2006 he entered real estate as a broker with Cal First Realty. Those early roles gave him experience in public service, education and private business.

He completed law school in 2015 and soon after took on a leadership role in his own practice. In 2016 he is listed as Managing Lawyer at the Law Offices of Wais Azami. That move marked a quick transition from law graduate to running a legal practice. He is admitted to practice in California.

Azami has pursued additional professional training, including a Certificate of Completion from the Warrior Lawyer Academy. He has aligned himself with bar groups and defense organizations. His memberships include local county bar associations in Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange County, as well as statewide groups such as the California DUI Lawyers Association and California Lawyers for Criminal Justice. He has also been involved with the Public Service Law Corporation of the Riverside County Bar Association.

Those connections map onto the kinds of cases his practice handles. Membership in DUI and criminal justice organizations suggests work in criminal defense and related matters. His background in education and counseling informs how he communicates with clients, and his time in real estate speaks to experience with transactional and regulatory issues.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who has moved steadily through different fields into private practice. He combines courtroom roles and client intake, handling cases from the initial arraignment through trial when necessary. He maintains ties to several county bar associations and defense groups, which provide professional resources and networking opportunities.

He currently practices at the Law Office of Wais Azami, where he handles criminal and DUI defense matters.
